The Meilerhütte ( 2372 m above sea level ) is an alpine hut in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen section of the German Alpine Club in the Wetterstein Mountains . It is open from mid-June to the beginning of October and has 81 beds. The Alte Meilerhütte , located directly next to the Neue Meilerhütte , is owned by the Bayerland section and serves as a winter room (6 storage rooms and mattresses) when it is not managed . From Schachen there is a material cable car to the hut.
location
The Meilerhütte is located directly on the ridge in the Dreitorspitzgatterl, directly on the Wettersteinkamm , which forms the border between Tyrol and Bavaria here. Immediately to the southeast, just a little below, is the Leutascher Platt, which is still partly iced in summer. The hut is far away from valleys and mountain railways.
