Competition rule
Competition Rules (including competition rules or rules ) are rules for conducting competitions in sports . They are used by the respective sport competent sports federations established. For national competitions these are usually the national sports associations, for international championships the corresponding world associations.
Essential aspects of the competition rules are stipulations on the competition venue (e.g. size and condition of a playing field ), on the sports equipment , on the age and performance classes , on the tournament or competition mode, any qualification standards for certain competitions and on the participants. In the game of sport , team sizes, playing time and sections, points counting and game classes are also specified. In individual sports stipulations are usually on the individual sports disciplines (eg. As distances or sports equipment genus) and to determine the performance (. Eg Physical values or points ) included.
The competition rules also stipulate which requirements athletes have to meet in order to be allowed to participate in a competition, for example membership of a sports club belonging to the respective association , recognition of anti-doping regulations as well as rules of conduct and possible sanctions (e.g. B. sports penalties or competition bans ) for violations of these rules. The composition of the competition jury ( referee , arbitration tribunal ) and possibilities of appeal are usually also included.
