Huangpu (Guangzhou)
The municipality of Huangpu ( Chinese 黃埔 區 / 黄埔 区 , Pinyin Huángpǔ Qū , formerly transcribed with Whampoa ) is a municipality in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong . It belongs to the administrative area of the prefecture-level city of Guangzhou ( Canton ).
Created in 1924 Whampoa Military Academy of the Kuomintang is named after the neighborhood.
