The White Cart Water is a river in Scotland .
geography
The White Cart Water has its source in a forest in the East Renfrewshire Council Area about seven kilometers southwest of East Kilbride . It follows a northerly direction for 14.5 kilometers and marks the boundary between the Unitary Authoritys of East Renfrewshire and South Lanarkshire to Clarkston . Initially, its course did not affect any significant towns in this area. The river flows between East Kilbride and Eaglesham and eventually reaches Waterfoot . Further north it separates the cities of Clarkston and Busby from each other and from a point north of Clarkston represents the border river between East Renfrewshire and Glasgow before it lies entirely in the district of Cathcart on Glasgower territory. The White Cart Water changes its main direction in Cathcart and flows from now on to the west through the districts of Pollokshaws , Pollok and Crookston . Eventually the river reaches Renfrewshire and turns north for the last time at Paisley . The White Cart Water passes Glasgow Airport to the east and merges with the Black Cart Water at Renfrew to form the Cart . After a few hundred meters this flows into the Clyde .
