The WiSo Management Academy was founded in 1989 as an offshoot of the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and is a service provider in the fields of further training and events based in Nuremberg .

It trains specialists and managers for the national and international economy. Your core competencies in the field of training , courses and seminars lie in management and business administration . The focus is on leadership, marketing and sales as well as business administration for non-business people.

In 1999 the portfolio was expanded to include staff recruitment. To this end, it organizes one of the largest job fairs in southern Germany, the akademika, twice a year . As a service provider, it also runs so-called job information exchanges, among others for the Bavarian State Ministry for Labor and Social Affairs and on behalf of NürnbergMesse .

In addition, since 2004 the academy has coordinated and is responsible for the part-time MBA Business Management course at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg with the department of economics . Since 2014, the WFA has also coordinated and supervised the part-time Master in Marketing Management in the department.

The company has been run as an organizationally economically independent GmbH since it was founded, is recognized as a non-profit organization and, as a university-related institution, has the status of an affiliated institute . In addition to the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, other companies and organizations are also shareholders, such as the Grundig Academy for Business and Technology, a non-profit foundation. In 2006, it joined the Grundig Academy Group .
