Wickenhof

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wickenhof was a municipality with (1933) 22 inhabitants in the district of Birkenfeld . The place was leveled at the end of the 1930s with the establishment of the Baumholder military training area and thus deserted . The desert is now in the municipal area of Sienhachenbach .

Here Schinderhannes met his future wife and companion, Julchen , on Easter 1800 after an armed street robbery (on December 18, 1799) .

From 1817 Wickenhof belonged to the Lichtenberg and from 1835 to the Prussian mayorship of Sien in what was then the district of St. Wendel . In 1920 the community came to the remaining district of Sankt Wendel-Baumholder and with this in 1937 to the district of Birkenfeld.

Apart from the memorial plaque nothing reminds of the Wickenhof
