Sienhachenbach is a municipality in the Birkenfeld district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Herrstein-Rhaunen community .
geography
The community is located between Idar-Oberstein and Lauterecken northeast of the Baumholder military training area . Neighboring communities are Oberreidenbach , Otzweiler and Sien .
The Forsthaus Antestal residential area also belongs to Sienhachenbach .
history
Sienhachenbach was first mentioned in a document in 1508.
By the Rhineland-Palatinate "State law on the dissolution of the Baumholder manor and its municipal reorganization" of November 2, 1993 (GVBl, p. 518), the community received two large parcels of the disbanded Baumholder manor on January 1, 1994.

Municipal council
The council in Sienhachenbach consists of six council members, who in the local elections on May 26, 2019 in a majority vote were elected, and the directly elected honorary mayor as chairman.

Dietmar Fritz became the local mayor of Sienhachenbach on March 14, 2017. In the direct election on May 26, 2019, he was confirmed in his office for another five years with a share of 90.83% of the votes.
Fritz's predecessor as local mayor, Arnold Steitz, who died in May 2017, had resigned from office on December 31, 2016 for health reasons.
Culture and leisure
The parish hall was inaugurated in 1968. It is the center of cultural life in the community and is used by the local associations . The Protestant church holds its services here on special church holidays, as there is no church in the village. The house, which is equipped with a small and a large hall, is often used for family celebrations, public events and courses offered by the adult education center.
