Oberreidenbach is located on Bundesstraße 270 , in a side valley of the Upper Nahe , between the Palatinate and Hunsrück , right on the edge of one of the largest military training areas in Germany, the Baumholder military training area , which has been mainly used by the German Armed Forces and the US Army for decades.

On January 1, 1994, part of the former Baumholder estate - a forest area south of the former location of the municipality of Zaubach , which was dissolved in 1937 - was reclassified into the local municipality of Oberreidenbach.

The municipality has a district area of ​​1,093 ha, of which 277 ha are forested and 412 ha are occupied by the military training area. Neighboring communities are Mittelreidenbach , Schmidthachenbach and Sienhachenbach . The next larger cities are Idar-Oberstein , Bad Kreuznach and Kaiserslautern .

Culture and sights
