Schwerbach is a municipality in the Birkenfeld district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Herrstein-Rhaunen community .
geography
The cluster village is centrally located in the Hunsrück . The nature reserve Wacholderheide lies between the village and the Kyrbachtal .
Schwerbach is the municipality with the lowest number of inhabitants in the Birkenfeld district.

Municipal council
The council in Schwerbach consists of six council members, who in the local elections on May 26, 2019 in a majority vote were elected, and the volunteer local mayor as chairman.

Claudia Endres became mayor of Schwerbach on June 12, 2019. In the direct election on May 26, 2019, she was elected for five years with a share of 56.76% of the vote.
Endres' predecessor, Christel Roth-Janitz, had held the office since 2004, but did not take up office again in 2019.

The blazon reads: “In a split shield on top in gold a red mythical animal with a wolf's head and wide open wings, covered with a black wolf hook . A silver bar below in black. "
The mythical animal refers to the former affiliation to the Wild and Rhine Counties and corresponds to the earlier court seal of the Rhaunen High Court . The lower half of the shield shows the heraldic symbols of the former Lords of Wiltberg, as Lords of Schwerbach.
Economy and Infrastructure
There is a village community center in Schwerbach . In Kirn there is a train station on the Bingen – Saarbrücken line . In the north are the federal highway 50 and the Frankfurt-Hahn airport .
