The place is north of the Nahe between Kirn and Herrstein . Almost half of the district area is forested.

Culture and sights
Berschweiler belongs to the Hunsrück Slate and Castle Road and is located on the Sirona-Weg . The historic Fischbach copper mine , one of the largest and most important copper mines in Germany, is located between Berschweiler and Fischbach . In the south there is a memorial stone, which reminds of the former place Staufenberg . In the west at the common cemetery of Bergen and Berschweiler there is another memorial stone that reminds of the former place Wassernach . An old Roman road, a branch line of Ausoniusstraße, runs close by .
Since 2015, Berschweiler near Kirn has been allowed to use the suffix "National Park Community". It is 6 km as the crow flies to the border of the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park . The Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park is the sixteenth German national park , Germany's youngest national park .
Economy and Infrastructure
Bundesstraße 41 runs in the southeast . In Kirn there is a train station on the Bingen – Saarbrücken line .
