Leitzweiler is a municipality in the Birkenfeld district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Baumholder community .

geography

Leitzweiler is located in the Saar-Nahe-Bergland on the edge of the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park . The Lindenhof residential area also belongs to Leitzweiler .

history

Until the first third of the 18th century, the village belonged to the duchy of Pfalz-Zweibrücken and, as part of the Berschweiler mayor, was under the administration of the Lichtenberg regional office . The lower courts was from 1690 to the Lords of Werdenstein to, Leitzweiler now formed with Heimbach , Weiersbach and Bleiderdingen the dairy Werdenstein.
