history
Mittelreidenbach was first mentioned in a document in 1367. Mittelreidenbach belonged to the sovereignty of Oberstein until the end of the 18th century and was the seat of a mayor's shop .
In 1794 the Left Bank of the Rhine was taken by French revolutionary troops. From 1798 to 1814 Mittelreidenbach belonged to the canton of Grumbach in the Saardepartement . Due to the agreements reached at the Congress of Vienna (1815), the region came to the Saxon-Coburg principality of Lichtenberg in 1816 , to which it belonged until 1834. The Berglangenbach community initially belonged to the Schmidthachenbach mayor , and from 1823 to the Sien mayor . After the sale to Prussia and the dissolution of the Principality of Lichtenberg, Mittelreidenbach came to the newly established St. Wendel district in the Rhine province . Mittelreidenbach has been part of the Birkenfeld district since 1937 and part of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate since 1946 .
On January 1, 1994, part of the former Baumholder estate - for example the former location of the Zaubach community, which was dissolved in 1937 - was reclassified to the Mittelreidenbach community.
