geography

The place is on the Hambach in the Hunsrück . It consists of the districts of Böschweiler, Burbach and Heupweiler.

history

Two sandstone lions from a Roman tomb were found near Heupweiler. Burbach was first mentioned in a document in 1338, Böschweiler in 1438. Today's Niederhambach was created on October 1, 1933 through the merger of the previously independent communities of Böschweiler, Burbach and Heupweiler.
