geography

Rinzenberg lies on the edge of the Black Forest high forest . 76.5 percent of the district area is forested. In the north-east is Oberhambach , in the east of Gollenberg and south are Ellenberg and Buhlenberg . Rinzenberg is a national park community in the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1269 as Ritzeberg . Until the end of the 18th century it belonged to the Hinteren Grafschaft Sponheim .
