The building is located in the middle of Widenmayerstraße in the Lehel district of Munich, to the left of the Isar, north of the Luitpold Bridge . It is part of the listed ensemble Widenmayerstraße . Since the Widenmayerstraße is only built on one side, the houses on this side are continuously counted. No. 25 / 25a is located between Widenmayerstraße 24 and Widenmayerstraße 26 and together with them forms a single building complex.
particularities
As one of the few double houses at Widenmayerstrasse it is in a combination of neo with Nouveau designed -elements, the symmetrical street facade is pilasters divided and protrudes with two Zwerchhäusern into the high roof.
The defining symmetry of the street facade is not continued inside the semi-detached house, where the architecture is characterized by very heterogeneous structures. A rear wing adjoins the southern part of the building, which was functionally separated from the rest of the rooms in the front building as an economic and personnel area. However, this separation was lifted by the renovation work in 1969.
