Widget - The Little Guardian is an animated series from the early 1990s. Directed by Tom Burton and Danilo Cabreira . This series took up current problems such as environmental pollution and tried to make them understandable for children.
action
The little alien guardian apprentice Widget from a planet in the constellation Orion accidentally arrives on earth in a spaceship. There he ends up on a beach, where he sets up a base camp in a cave between the cliffs. The story is somewhat reminiscent of Invader Zim, and just like there, Widget has two bosses, the wise men. However, Widget's job is by no means to conquer the earth or to enslave the inhabitants, but to save threatened animals and punish evil people. Already in the first episode three children named Kevin, Christine and Brian noticed him. They make friends with him and help him with his assignments. A strange being called the mega-brain, which can appear from widget's clock, is also at his side with advice and action. One of the most remarkable things about Widget is that it can transform itself into anything, be it a killer whale , a rubber duck or even a palm tree. In the course of his assignments, Widget also encounters special opponents, of which the ruthless mega-villain who exterminated all life on his planet Titanium is probably the worst. But Rattus is also a bad opponent, who looks very similar to Widget, but in character is exactly the opposite of the dutiful environmentalist.
The series had two different opening credits , but with the same introductory text, and before each opening, Widget provides a brief introduction to the plot of the episode.
Characters
Widget A little guardian apprentice from the constellation Orion. Although he ended up on earth involuntarily, the wise make the best of it and give him many assignments. Widget may be small, but it has a lot of tricks on it that are very useful in the fight against natural disasters and evil forces. Above all, this includes its versatility. However, the widget must be able to turn in a fast vortex for this, otherwise it won't work.
Mega brain Mega brain is just a head with two hands, but it has special abilities. With them, the Widget is of great help more than once. Megahirn also has a few friends who also have a lot to offer.
Kevin One of Earthly friends widgets. Although he wants to help Widget, like every teenager, he wants to be really cool and is too easily distracted by special things. However, more than once, this bad habit puts him in sticky situations that Widget needs to get him out of.
Christine The girl is the haven of calm in the trio of children. At first, she makes sure that Kevin and Brian don't exaggerate and do nonsense. However, it no longer plays a special role later.
Rattus Rattus should be a helper for Widget because aliens also need a break. Rattus, however, likes to cause strife and steal from others. Thus, instead of one less worry, Widget has one more worry.
The wise ones are widgets superiors with whom he is in radio contact and who always give him orders. The red sage is also a woman.
