Peter Keefe

Peter Eugene Keefe (* 1952 in Rochester (New York) ; † May 27, 2010 there ) was an American television producer.

Keefe, who worked as a film critic for the television station KPLR from 1970 , worked from 1983 as a producer for World Events Productions , where he adapted Japanese anime series for western television. For example, from the series Hyakujū Ō Golion and Kikō Kantai Dairugger XV, the series Voltron , which was broadcast in more than 100 countries. After the templates from the Japanese series ran out, a team under Keefe produced its own episodes.

In order to support the sales of series in other markets, Keefe often removed country-specific cultural allusions in his adaptations.

In 1989 Keefe founded Zodiac Entertainment , where he also produced television series. Most recently he worked on the Z-Force series .

Private

Keefe was married and had a stepson. He died of throat cancer in the house of one of his sisters .
