Jakob Andreas Crusius

Jakob Andreas Crusius (born November 9, 1636 in Hanover ; † August 16, 1680 in Hanover) was a German lawyer .

Life

Jakob Andreas Crusius was born in Hanover in 1636 as the son of the lawyer Christoph Crusius . He studied law at the University of Wittenberg , the University of Leipzig and the University of Helmstedt and dealt with theological issues. He then went on an educational trip that was typical of the time and took him through Germany, Holland and France .

After he returned to Helmstedt in 1662, he received his doctorate in law there. The following year he took up a position in Minden as a lawyer . In 1667 he worked as a lawyer in his hometown and was appointed court and councilor in 1678. Crusius made a name for himself as a scholar through his literary work in the field of law.

His two works De jure offerendi and De nocte et nocturnis officiis were put on the index in two decrees of the Roman Catholic Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in 1662 .
