Austrian Goethe Society
The Austrian Goethe Society was founded in 1878 under the name Wiener Goethe-Verein as a literary-scientific organization based in Vienna as the oldest Goethe Society in the German-speaking area. It has a library in Kremsmünster Abbey with a Goethe Center and Julius Patzak reading room .
The aim was the appreciation and dissemination of Goethe in the scientific environment as well as the erection of the Vienna Goethe monument .
Today the society organizes cultural events and issues publications on a regular basis, including the yearbook of the Austrian Goethe Society , previously the yearbook of the Vienna Goethe Society .
