The Wiener Sport-Club Platz is the home of the Vienna football club Wiener Sport-Club . The stadium , built in 1904, is located in the Dornbach district and is the oldest football field in Austria that is still used . After the football section split off in 2001, the Wiener Sportklub , a club founded by officials and players, played its games at the Wiener Sport-Club Platz until it was reintegrated into the parent club in the summer of 2017 .

The stadium has an approved capacity of 7,828 spectators (March 2015). The opening game took place on October 16, 1904, the Vienna Sports Association defeated Ödenburg 7: 3.

The northern grandstand of the stadium is known as the "Friedhofstribüne" because it is opposite the Dornbacher Friedhof . This standing area is mainly frequented by the fan clubs of the Vienna Sport Club .

What is remarkable about this stadium is the unusual British atmosphere of the entire square (spectators are close to the field, stadium location in the residential area), which hardly any other stadium in Austria has.

The Wiener Sport-Club Platz is one of the stadiums in Austria in need of renovation, because the cemetery stand suffers from high humidity, the eastern "Kainzgasse stand" has been open again since March 2015 after a long-term closure and on the western main stand the wooden benches and the roof are in poor condition. In May 2016 it was announced that the ailing main grandstand would be demolished and replaced by a new building, including making the stadium suitable for the Bundesliga. At the same time, the stadium technology and playing field are to be completely refurbished. In October 2018, the Vienna City Council finally decided to subsidize the renovation measures in the amount of 6.25 million euros. In addition to the main grandstand, the other grandstands are now also to be demolished. The main grandstand, cemetery grandstand and blue grandstand are to be replaced by new grandstands, while the Kainzgasse grandstand is not included in the new construction plans in order to enable the main grandstand and the playing field to be widened. Construction work is scheduled to begin in 2020. The capacity after the renovation should be 6,000 spectators.

The stadium can be reached with the rapid transit line S45 and with the tram lines 10, 43 and 2.
