technical description

The GT MF5 is a two-door, two-seat coupe with rear-wheel drive. It has a self-supporting aluminum body that is glued and riveted. The drag coefficient ( ) is 0.38, at a speed of 200 km / h the contact pressure is 549 N at the front of the vehicle and 59 N at the rear. The wheels are suspended all around on MacPherson struts . They are guided at the front on double wishbones and at the rear on double wishbones with additional trailing arms. In addition, torsion stabilizers are installed on the front and rear axles. The GT MF5 has aluminum rims with a diameter of 483 mm (19 in) as standard, with tires of 265/35 ZR at the front and 325/30 ZR at the rear. All wheels are equipped with disc brakes with a diameter of 380 mm. An anti-lock braking system and driving dynamics control come from the BMW E63 as standard . The steering components come from the BMW E46 and E90 series .

The GT MF5 is powered by a BMW engine installed behind the front axle. The BMW S85 was used until 2010 , a liquid-cooled V10 suction gasoline engine with DOHC valve control . It has a displacement of 4999 cm 3 , its rated output is 373 kW at 7750 min −1 . After production stopped by BMW, Wiesmann installed the BMW S63 , a liquid-cooled and supercharged V8 petrol engine with a displacement of 4395 cm 3 , it also has DOHC valve control. The rated power was in contrast to the previously installed engine to 408 kW at 6000 min -1 increased. The engine transmits the torque to an automated manual transmission with seven gears. It comes from the BMW E60.

The weight distribution between the front and rear axles is 49.6% to 50.4%. The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.9 s and reaches a top speed of 311 km / h. The braking deceleration is specified as 10.6 m / s 2 when braking from 100 to 0 km / h.
