Viktor Alexandrowitsch Brumberg

Wiktor Alexandrowitsch Brumberg ( Russian Виктор Александрович Брумберг , scientific transliteration Viktor Aleksandrovič Brumberg ; * 1933 ) is a Russian physicist and astronomer . He works as a professor at the Institute of Applied Astronomy of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Saint Petersburg . He is known for his work on ephemeris and celestial mechanics .

He was visiting professor at the Technical University of Darmstadt .

Brumberg is a member of a scientific committee of Commission 4 for Ephemeris of the International Astronomical Union . In 1993 he was elected a member of the Academia Europaea .

In 1997 the asteroid (4916) Brumberg was named after him.
