Viktor Petrowytsch Andrushchenko ( Ukrainian Віктор Петрович Андрущенко , transliteration Viktor Petrovyč Andruščenko ; born January 1, 1949 in Sovynka in Sumy Oblast , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian philosopher, politician and university rector.

Life

Andrushchenko was born in the village of Sovynka ( Совинка ) in Konotop district to a Ukrainian family of teachers and from 1955 attended elementary school in the village of Shapovaliwka ( оаповалівка ). In 1966 he graduated from a grammar school in Konotop district and then studied industrial engineering in Konotop until 1968 . Between 1968 and 1970 he did his military service in the Red Army . In 1970 he became a student at the Philosophical Faculty of the National Taras Shevchenko University in Kiev , where, after successfully completing his studies, he became a doctoral candidate, lecturer and finally professor. From 1995 to 1999 he was Deputy Minister of Education of Ukraine and then became Director of the Institute for Higher Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine . Since 2003 Andrushchenko has been the rector of the National Pedagogical University M. P. Drahomanow in Kiev.
