  1. The automotive company Kirchberg AG (AKAG) was founded 1914th It first operated the Wil-Kirchberg-Gähwil route.
  2. The Paul Halter AG (later bus Halter AG) was founded in 1915 and operated for the time being only the route Sirnach-Fischingen and since 1945 also flies to Wil.
  3. The Wil-Littenheid (AWL) car company started operations in 1949 and only drove from Wil to the Littenheid clinic.
  4. The bus Eastern Switzerland (BOS) was founded in 1999 and was a collaboration between the bus holder AG and RTB Rheintal Bus AG. Until the merger to form WilMobil, it was the largest and most important bus company in Wil.

WilMobil AG emerged on November 25, 2004 from Automobilgesellschaft Kirchberg AG (AKAG), Auto Company Wil-Littenheid (AWL), Bus Ostschweiz AG (BOS) and Bus-Halter AG. On January 1, 2005, Wick Stadtbus AG, which started operations in 1990, was fully integrated.

Vehicle fleet

The WilMobil vehicle fleet is subject to rapid changes, as vehicles are often exchanged with the partner companies of BUS Ostschweiz AG. It currently includes:

  • 9 Midi Solaris 8.6 and 8.9
  • 7 Mercedes-Benz Citaro K
  • 7 Mercedes standard bus 12m
  • 4 articulated buses (2 × Mercedes, 2 × MAN)

With the replacement of the aging Sprinter at the beginning of 2017, WilMobil is relying on slightly larger buses for the new vehicles. In overland traffic, they are mainly used to Bronschhofen - Himmelrich and on the evening offers.

The midibuses are also used for cross-country traffic, especially to Littenheid and Braunau, and also on other lines in off-peak times.

The three articulated buses run almost exclusively on the Rickenbach-Kirchberg-Gähwil line and also to Sirnach-Eschlikon-Bichelsee at peak times.

The eight solo buses run on all overland routes

On the line 761 Bazenheid - Kirchberg - Dietschwil, the courses are driven by buses from the company Sepp Holenstein Reisen on behalf of Wilmobil.
