history

The predecessor company was founded in 1897 as the Elektro Strassenbahn Altstätten-Berneck ( ABB ), renamed the Rheintalische Strassenbahnen ( RhSt ) in 1915 on the occasion of the opening of the branch line to Diepoldsau , before it was renamed the Rheintalische Verkehrsbetriebe ( RhV ) again in 1958 .

ABB / RhSt / RhV operated the Altstätten – Berneck tram (1897 to 1975) and the Altstätten – Berneck trolleybus (1940 to 1977). In addition, the Altstätten-Gais-Bahn (AG) transferred the management of its Altstätten – Gais railway line between 1911 and 1949 to them . Bus traffic has existed since 1930 when the cross-border connection to Hohenems in Austria was started.

In 1995 the RhV spun off its bus operations to the newly founded RTB Rheintal Bus . The appearance was changed to blue and white. In May 2010, BUS Sarganserland Werdenberg AG was also integrated into RTB Rheintal Bus AG . In 2013, the company was finally renamed BUS Ostschweiz AG (BOS) when WilMobil AG (WiMo) was incorporated.
