The Wildbahn hiking trail leads through areas of Kurhesse rich in game over a total length of 210 km.

It was planned around 1930 from Höxter to Bad Brückenau, implemented from Bad Karlshafen to Neukirchen (Haunetal). From Solling club the piece was Hoexter - Bad Karlshafen affiliated in 1977th The extension from Neukirchen to Hünfeld took place in 1980 by the Knüllgebirgsverein . As part of the Ars Natura project , the hiking trail from Spangenberg , together with the Barbarossaweg crossing there, will be expanded into an art hiking trail , which in 2011 comprised the Kassel - Rotenburg an der Fulda section .
