The Knüllgebirgsverein (KGV) is a hiking club in Northern Hesse with its headquarters in Neukirchen (Knüll) . He looks after an area around the Knüllgebirge from the Schwalm landscape to the Thuringian border.

The association with 2000 members in 14 branch associations looks after a network of 64 hiking trails as its main task , including not only local hiking trails but also sections of the long-distance hiking trails Lulluspfad , Frau-Holle -pfad and Wildbahn .

The club was founded in 1884 by forester Hugo Borgmann (born April 26, 1841, † January 3, 1906) as a knüll club. In addition to hiking, the goals were the economic development of the remote region, which also led to the construction of the Treysa-Niederaula railway line . Under Harry Heussner there was a significant upswing from 1919 to 1950. These chairmen were honored with the Borgmann tower on the Eisenberg and the Heussner tower on the Mengshäuser Kuppe near Niederaula.

The association is a member of the Association of German Mountain and Hiking Associations . He publishes the club magazine Knüllgebirgsbote every two months and has also published Knüllführer . On the Knüllköpfchen mountain , he has been running an information center with a club archive since 2007. Other tasks of the association are regional culture and environmental protection.
