course

The Lulluspfad begins in Herzhausen at the western end of the Edersee. From there it crosses the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park to Bad Wildungen , leaves the Kellerwald in Jesberg and then crosses the Schwalm near Landsburg in the Neuental community . From Frielendorf it runs through the Knüllgebirge and leads over its highest peaks, the Knüllköpfchen (634 m) and the Eisenberg (636 m), before reaching the " Lullusstadt " Bad Hersfeld . At Philippsthal the hiking trail first crosses the Werra and then the Hessian-Thuringian border. Behind Oberzella , the path climbs to Hohen Wart (401 m) and leads steadily up and down through the Frauensee forest to Frauensee , where an important nunnery stood in the Middle Ages, and past the Hautsee to Marksuhl . North of Marksuhl, the path runs to Etterwind on the Sallmanshäuser Rennsteig , but turns off at Eichberg (454 m) before Etterwinds to Wilhelmsthal Castle and finally meets the Rennsteig at the Hohe Sonne south of Eisenach . The last stage leads in a slight curve from the east over the Weinstrasse to Eisenach, it grants several views of the nearby Wartburg and the Hörsel Mountains .
