Wilfried Arlt

Wilfried Arlt (born March 30, 1936 in Klein-Biesnitz ) is a German mechanical engineer specializing in shipbuilding, who became known in the 1990s primarily through the establishment and management of the Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau (later renamed Technical University of Wildau ).

Life

After studying mechanical engineering with a focus on shipbuilding at the Technical University of Berlin, first work at the Stülcken shipyard in Hamburg and then in 1968 doctorate in engineering. at the TU Berlin. Subsequently, he worked as a construction trainee and later as a government building officer in the typing office of the water and shipping administration in Hamburg. From 1973 to 1975 he was a lecturer and later professor at the Bremen University of Technology, Bremerhaven Department. In 1991 he moved to Wildau .

From 1991 establishment and management of the newly founded TFH Wildau in the state of Brandenburg at the location of the local technical college for engineering , from 1991 to 1995 as founding rector and from 1996 to 1999 as president. Arlt always attached particular importance to international cooperation as well as close cooperation between the university and business, both in the design of the courses and in the project-oriented technology transfer.
