Wilfried Effertz

Wilfried Effertz (born February 1950 in Elsdorf-Wüllenrath ) is mayor of the city of Elsdorf in the Rhein-Erft district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

After graduating from high school, Wilfried Effertz studied law at the University of Cologne . From 1978 to 2004 he worked as a criminal, civil and family judge in the Cologne District Court .

Effertz (SPD) was a council member in his home parish from 1979 to 2004. From 1997 to 2004 he was a member of the district council in the Rhein-Erft district. He was also temporarily a member of the lignite committee and mayor of his place of residence.

Since October 2004 he has been mayor of Elsdorf after a runoff election. In August 2009 he was re-elected with just under 51.23 percent of the vote.

Effertz has lived in Angelsdorf since 1983 , is married and has two children.
