Wilfried Krutzsch

Wilfried Krutzsch (born April 6, 1928 ) is a German paleobotanist and paleynologist .

Krutzsch worked at the Central Geological Institute of the GDR as head of the paleobotany working group and for many years at the Museum für Naturkunde (Berlin) of the Humboldt University in Berlin , where he also held a professorship. He dealt with fossil spores and pollen with applications to the tertiary - stratigraphy and the Upper Cretaceous and did research in the brown coal of Geiseltal .

In 2003 he became an honorary member of the Paleontological Society .

At the Central Geological Institute he published the atlas of the middle and early tertiary disperse spore and pollen as well as the microplankton forms of northern Central Europe from 1962 . He was a member of the German sub-commission for tertiary stratigraphy.
