Wilfried Lochbühler

Wilfried Lochbühler (* 1960 ) is a Catholic social ethicist and library manager.

Lochbühler studied theology and history in Freiburg im Breisgau , Innsbruck and Lucerne . From 1989 to 2001 he was a research assistant and senior assistant at the University of Lucerne in the department of social ethics. With a thesis on Christian environmental ethics he was awarded a doctorate by Hans Jürgen Münk in 1994. theol. PhD. In 2000 he became deputy director of the central and university library in Lucerne and in 2008 chairman of the “working group on library statistics” of the Association of Swiss Librarians , and in 2013 director of the main library of the University of Zurich . Since 2016 he has been President of the Steering Committee of the Consortium of Swiss University Libraries .
