Wilhelm Anton Michael Graf von Attems-Petzenstein (born January 5, 1848 in Gorizia , † May 17, 1916 in Baden ) was an Austrian Lieutenant Field Marshal in the First World War .

Life

Wilhelm Anton Michael Graf von Attems -Petzenstein was born as the son of Karl Bernhard Michael Graf von Attems-Heiligenkreuz (1809–1849) and Orsolina Gogoli (1812–1863). He married Melanie Freiin Jordis von Lohausen (1858–1939) in Tüchern on September 3, 1877. On May 1, 1908 (retroactively from May 18, 1908) Wilhelm Graf Attems was promoted to major general . The officer, who retired on October 1, 1909, became titular Lieutenant Field Marshal on June 10, 1912 , reactivated for the First World War and was appointed commander of Infantry Division N.56. On December 21, 1914, he was appointed real field marshal lieutenant.
