Wilhelm Beeckmann

Wilhelm Beeckmann (born November 1, 1872 in Barmen (now part of Wuppertal ), † 1960 in Essen ) was a German mining academician and editor of the specialist journal Glückauf .

Life

Wilhelm Beeckmann attended grammar school in Barmen. After graduating from high school and a one-year internship, he studied at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen and the Clausthal mining academy . In Tübingen he became a member of the Corps Suevia in 1894 . In mid-1897, after passing his exams, he began a traineeship in the state mining administration. In 1901 he passed the 2nd state examination and was appointed mountain assessor . In July 1901 he became a member of the editorial board of the magazine Glückauf, published by the Association for Mining Interests in the Dortmund District Mining Authority . From 1902 he was its editor for more than three decades.
