Wilhelm Bluemer

Wilhelm Blümer (* 1959 in Wettringen (Münsterland) ) is a German classical philologist .

In 1989, Blümer studied with Christian Gnilka at the University of Münster with the work Rerum eloquentia. Christian use of ancient stylistic art under St. Leo Magnus doctorate. In 2000 he completed his habilitation in Classical Philology with the work Interpretation of Archaic Poetry: The Mythological Parts of Erga Hesiods, also in Münster. Since 2001 he has been Professor of Latin Studies at the University of Mainz . He leads a project on New Testament text research "The Old Latin Acta Apostolorum ".
