from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wilhelm Bröckelmann ( June 18, 1797 in Altona - April 20, 1854 in Stargard ) was a German theater actor , singer ( tenor ) and director .

Life

Bröckelmann was already on stage in his early youth. He was first employed in children's roles, and his tenor was noticed as a young man. His first major engagement, which Friedrich Ludwig Schröder , who also promoted his father, got him, was Hanover, here he worked not only as a singer, but also as a comedian. He inherited this talent from his father Wilhelm Bröckelmann . After working on several other theaters with great success, he took over the theater management in Pomerania in 1834, where he worked for years as theater director. Due to the management business, he was no longer able to work too much as a performer and only rarely appeared on stage. In return, however, his appearance each time formed a festive evening for the audience. One could not get enough of his indestructible cheerful mood, his surprising joke, in which he was recognized as doing excellent things until the end of his life. He died on April 20, 1854 at a guest performance that he gave with his company in Stargard.

He was married to Julie Wagner from 1832 .
