Wilhelm Brockhaus (English studies)
Wilhelm Brockhaus (born July 4, 1923 in Anten / Berge ; † December 12, 1998 in Paderborn ) was a German Anglist , university professor and dialect writer.
Life
Brockhaus obtained his diploma in linguistics at the University of Münster in 1951. From 1953 to 1961 he worked as a teacher at the grammar school in Vechta , then until 1965 as a lecturer at the University of Education in Vechta . From 1962 to 1972 he was a professor at the University of Education in Paderborn , then a professor at the newly founded 1972 Comprehensive University of Paderborn . After his retirement in 1985 he worked as a Low German author.
