Wilhelm Butz (born June 23, 1836 in Augsburg ; † November 19, 1903 ibid) was from 1861 partner and commercial director of the "Eusebius Schiffmacher & Comp." Factory founded by Eusebius Schiffmacher in 1855 , which moved to Göggingen in 1863 and moved to the "twisting mill." - and sewing thread factory Göggingen AG ”(ZNFG for short) before it merged with the Ackermann twisting mill to form Ackermann-Göggingen AG.

Life

Wilhelm Butz was born as the son of the yarn wholesaler Wilhelm Butz sen. (* July 11, 1810 in Weißenburg ; † October 19, 1880 in Augsburg) and Luise Butz, b. Hobach (born October 11, 1812 in Oettingen , † February 22, 1887 in Augsburg) was born in Augsburg. After his mother's death, on May 28, 1887, in honor of his parents, he established the Wilhelm-Butz'sche Family Foundation (25,000 marks) for needy family members and, secondarily, for charitable purposes. His professional and social work was continued by his son Wilhelm Butz (jr.) .

Wilhelm Butz was buried in the Protestant cemetery in Augsburg . The grave has since been abandoned.

The Butzstraße in Göggingen is named after Wilhelm Butz .
