Wilhelm Deimann
Josef Friedrich Wilhelm Deimann (born June 20, 1889 in Brilon , Westphalia , † August 19, 1969 in Münster ) was a German philologist.
Life
He was a grammar school teacher in Werne, later a senior government and school councilor in Minden, editor of the "Contributions to Lower Saxony literary history" and co-editor of the magazine "Markwart. Sheets for the realization of the German folk literature idea ”.
Wilhelm Deimann is one of the authors who played a key role in shaping Löns secondary literature during the National Socialist era. Already when he came up with the title of his book "Hermann Löns, the Artists and Fighters (Hanover 1935)", an adaptation to the blood-and-soil ideology was made. Deimann pursued similar tendencies as early as the year the seizure of power with his work "Hermann Löns - Das deutsche Buch" (Hanover 1933), in which Löns is recommended as a writer for all Germans. In the foreword to this volume of text it says "Depth of feeling, fighting spirit, prophethood are the main traits that speak to us from the physical and spiritual face of Hermann Löns."
