Wilhelm Dorel (French Guillaume Dorel ; † 1174 ) was Lord of Batrun in the county of Tripoli . As such, he is also called Wilhelm I of Batrun .

In the middle of the 12th century he succeeded the Provencal knight Raimund von Agoult (Raymond d'Agot) as lord of Batrun. The sources do not give any clear information about the relationship between him and Raimund, presumably he was his son-in-law or son.

Wilhelm married Stephanie von Milly , the daughter of Heinrich von Milly , the lord or castellan of Arabia Petra . With her he had a daughter, Cecilia Dorel.

When he died in 1174, his liege, Count Raimund III. from Tripoli , personally about the imminent marriage of Cecilia. Raimund III. had already promised his long-time henchman, the Flemish knight Gérard de Ridefort , marriage to Cäcilia and enfeoffment with Batrun. A Pisan merchant named Plebanus persuaded the count to prefer him to the noble knight by paying 10,000 Byzantines . Cäcilia was married to Plebanus in 1174 and Plebanus was enfeoffed with the rule of Batrun from their inheritance law. Gérard de Ridefort then remained unmarried and joined the Knights Templar , where he rose to Grand Master in 1184.

His wife Stephanie married Hugo III after his death . Embriaco , lord of the neighboring Gibelet .
