Wilhelm Egger-Sell
Wilhelm Egger-Sell (born May 23, 1878 in the German Reich ; † October 21, 1946 in Berlin ) was a German actor in the stage and film industry.
Live and act
Egger-Sell began his stage career, with few ups and downs, at the turn of the century and performed at countless theaters in the German provinces up until the 1930s, including venues in Liegnitz, Heidelberg (there also directed for the first time shortly before the First World War), Mannheim, Mönchengladbach and Gladbach-Rheydt, where he last worked for several seasons in the early 1930s.
After arriving in Berlin in the middle of the same decade, the veteran actor was given small roles in a number of films. Wilhelm Egger-Sell played classic batch roles: sometimes he was a porter and a lay judge, sometimes a courtier and a scientist, and several times also a landlord. During the Second World War, the elderly artist returned to the stage and performed at the Schiffbauerdamm Theater from 1942.
