Wilhelm Ernst (Waldeck)

Wilhelm Ernst von Waldeck (born May 8, 1584 ; † September 16, 1598 in Tübingen ) was the only son of Count Günther von Waldeck (1557–1585) and his second wife Margarethe von Gleichen (1556–1619). After the early death of his father, he was nominally Count of Waldeck zu Wildungen, with his mother exercising the reign for him.

Wilhelm Ernst died on September 16, 1598 at the age of 14 while studying at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen . With him the older Wildunger line of the Waldeck family died out in the male line. His grave is still preserved in the choir of the Tübingen collegiate church .
