Wilhelm Jockusch

Wilhelm Jockusch (born September 16, 1867 in Bielefeld ; † November 21, 1945 there ) was Lord Mayor of the city of Lüdenscheid .

Life

After studying law and political science in Tübingen , Leipzig , Kiel and Berlin, Wilhelm Jockusch became a trainee lawyer and received his doctorate in economics and finance in 1892 with the dissertation “About Lassalle's iron wage law” . After the assessor exam in February 1894, he worked in various places in Germany before he was elected mayor of the city of Lüdenscheid on March 12, 1896 and was introduced to his office on June 16. In 1907 Lüdenscheid became a district-free city and the mayor thus held the title of Lord Mayor . On March 31, 1930, Jockusch resigned from office and was then general director of Elektromark .

When he passed, he was granted honorary citizenship of the city of Lüdenscheid. The former Sadowa Street was named after him in his memory.
