Wilhelm Lantermann

Wilhelm Lantermann (born September 5, 1899 in Dinslaken ; † May 11, 1973 in Duisburg ) was a German SPD politician .

Life and work

After attending elementary school , Lantermann entered administrative service in 1914. After an administration apprenticeship and later attending the administration academy, he rose to the position of mayor inspector. In 1934 he was dismissed for political reasons and worked as a representative until 1945.

The “Wilhelm-Lantermann-Haus” senior citizens' center run by the Arbeiterwohlfahrt and Wilhelm-Lantermann-Strasse in Dinslaken are named after Lantermann .

Political party

Lantermann belonged to the SPD and was a board member in Dinslaken from 1922 until the party was banned in 1933. He was also involved in the Reichsbanner Schwarz-Rot-Gold , where he was also a member of the local board.

MP

From 1929 to 1933 and again from 1946 to 1973 Lantermann was a city councilor in Dinslaken. From 1946 to 1973 Lantermann was mayor in Dinslaken. In 1933, 1946 and from 1949 to 1952 he was a member of the district council . From 1947 to 1954 and from 1962 to 1966 Lantermann was a member of the state parliament in North Rhine-Westphalia for the constituency of Dinslaken. He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1957 to 1961.
