Wilhelm Lewicki

Wilhelm Lewicki (born September 21, 1935 in Erfurt ; † October 10, 2001 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ) was a patron of the history of science.

The great-great-grandson Justus Liebig and great-great-grandson Carl Thierschs , after graduating from high school in Saarbrücken in 1955, studied sociology, Romance languages, English, business administration and economics in Saarbrücken and Hamburg and began working for a company in Ludwigshafen in the purchase of chemicals and raw materials in 1960. In 1969 he founded Prohama BV, which he took over in a management buyout in 1989. In 1991 the company's headquarters were relocated to Ludwigshafen am Rhein. In 1978 he founded Epandage-Vinasse-Ausbringungs-GmbH, specializing in the marketing of vinasse , a product that is intended to serve as an organic nutrient for soil microorganisms and plants. Years of research confirm the use and effectiveness of the vinasse approved for organic farming.

He brought together an extensive library of scientific and scientific history works, especially those of his ancestor Liebig.

He also belonged long the board of the Justus-Liebig-society, the restoration of the supported Liebig laboratory in Giessen , donated the to the close cooperation Liebigs with Friedrich Wohler reminiscent Liebig-Wöhler-friendly prices that led Baron von Liebig Memory Lecture and created the exhibition Everything is chemistry for Liebig's work in 1998 , which was shown in several European cities.

He was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon.
