Wilhelm Merck (born January 30, 1867 in Nuremberg , † November 30, 1929 in Munich ) was a German politician.

Live and act

After attending primary school and high school , Merck studied law at the universities of Munich and Berlin. After the second state examination in law, which he passed in 1892, Merck worked in the Bavarian administrative service from 1893 to 1900. Then he became a landowner in Grundnerhof.

Merck became chairman of the state association of the Bavarian animal breeding associations and the Bavarian state association for the promotion of horse breeding in Bavaria as well as deputy chairman of the regional agricultural committee of Upper Bavaria and the Bavarian agricultural council, of which he was also a member. He was also a member of the State Chamber of Farmers.

In 1919 Merck joined the Bavarian People's Party (BVP). In March 1920, Merck entered the Weimar National Assembly , to which he was a member until June 1920. From June 1920 to May 1928 he was a member of the Reichstag for three legislative terms, in which he represented constituency 24 (Upper Bavaria-Swabia; June 1920 to May 1924 and December 1924 to May 1928), or as a non-constituency on his party's proposal for a Reich election Member of Parliament sat (May to December 1924).
