Wilhelm Ostermeyer

Wilhelm Ostermeyer (born August 19, 1918 in Cantrup ; † 1996 ) was a German painter , graphic artist and art teacher.

Life

Ostermeyer grew up in Hameln , where he also passed his Abitur. He began his art studies in Berlin at the State University for Art Education with Bernhard Hasler . He then studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy with Werner Heuser , Wilhelm Schmurr and Heinrich Kamps . In Cologne he attended the Werkkunstschule and studied history and philosophy at the University of Göttingen. From 1953 to 1983 he worked as an art teacher at the Lüchow High School. He was a member of the Association of Visual Artists of Northwest Germany.

Ostermeyer designed the book by Heinrich Spanuth Spanuth's Guide to the Pied Piper City of Hameln and illustrations in newspapers under the pseudonym Federer . Exhibition places of his works were u. a. Berlin, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Lüneburg, Hameln, Uelzen, Lüchow, Bad Honnef, Bad Bevensen, Hermannsburg and the Kunstforum Göhrde. His works are in public and private ownership.
