Andrea Lundgren

Andrea Lundgren (born September 19, 1986 in Vittjärv , municipality of Boden , province of Norrbotten County ) is a Swedish writer and literary critic .

Life

Lundgren grew up in the village of Vittjärv in the municipality of Boden. At the age of eighteen, after graduating from high school, she moved to Stockholm and worked at a writing school. In 2010 she made her debut with the novel I tunga vintrars mage . With the support of a scholarship from the Swedish Writers' Association, she traveled to South America in 2011 to find new ideas for her writing. Her second novel Glupahungern was published in 2014 . In 2015, Lundgren's novella Bedragaren was nominated for the Novella Prize of Sveriges Radio . Her writing is influenced by both ancient myths and modern authors such as Birgitta Sportwetten and Virginia Woolf . In 2018 her third book Nordisk fauna with six animal novels was published, which was awarded the Vi magazine's literary prize.

In addition to her writing activities, she works in the book trade and as a teacher for creative writing. She runs the literature podcast “Skogarna”. She lives in Stockholm with her daughter and her partner and illustrator Olle Forsslöfs.
