Wilhelm Prilipp

Wilhelm Prilipp (born April 15, 1909 , † September 15, 1989 ) was a German officer, most recently a brigadier general in the Bundeswehr .

Act

During the Second World War he was a major from May 1942 to February 1943, in command of the 2nd division of the 73rd Panzer Artillery Regiment. As a lieutenant colonel , he was group leader 1b (weapons and ammunition) at the General of the Artillery at the Chief General Staff of the Army .

As a colonel in the Bundeswehr, he followed Kurt Gieser in 1957 as head of the artillery department in the troop office and remained in this position until 1959. At the Artillery School in Idar-Oberstein he followed Kurt von Vangerow as head of the ATP / ATV staff. In his last employment as Brigadier General (promotion in July 1964) he was from October 1962 to September 1966 commander of Artillery Command 2 of the II Corps .

From 1969 to 1977 he was managing director of the German Society for Defense Technology (DWT) in Bad Godesberg , as well as a member of the executive committee and deputy chairman.

In 1983 Prilipp intervened against the discontinuation of proceedings for insulting the Koblenz public prosecutor because of the written statement that "soldiers are all paid murderers". The procedure was therefore because of sedition reopened and ended with a acquittal because not intentional action.
