Wilhelm Riede

Philipp Ludwig Wilhelm Riede (born July 19, 1878 in Mannheim-Neckarau , † August 26, 1968 in Wiesbaden ) was a German insurance manager. Riede was director and board member of Victoria zu Berlin and Victoria fire insurance.

Life

Professional background

From autumn 1884 to Easter 1888 he attended the model school in Frankfurt am Main . Since Easter 1888 he was a student at the humanistic Kaiser-Friedrich-Gymnasium in Frankfurt, where he passed the Abitur at Easter 1897.

From 1897 he studied law in Munich, later Berlin and then Freiburg im Breisgau. In 1901 he passed the exam as a Baden legal trainee, in 1904 the Baden Assessor exam with the qualification for judicial office and a higher administrative career. Until 1907 Riede was a government assessor and clerk at the Triberg district office . From 1907 to 1908 he was deputy chairman of the arbitration tribunal of the employers' insurance in Freiburg im Breisgau. From 1908 to 1912 Riede was a government assessor and clerk at the Freiburg im Breisgau district office. He then completed a training course for senior administrative officials at the Society for State Science Further Education in Frankfurt am Main and acted as the independent representative of the administrative boards at the district offices in Lörrach and Ettenheim and other cities.

From 1912 to 1913 he was an assistant at the Reich Supervisory Office for Private Insurance.

From October 1, 1913, Riede took on an information role at Victoria zu Berlin. From May 1914 Riede was director and board member of Victoria zu Berlin and Victoria fire insurance. Riede was also a member of various commissions in the German insurance industry.

military service

From October 1, 1897 to September 30, 1898, Riede did his one-year voluntary military service with the first field artillery regiment Prince Regent Luitpold in Munich. During the First World War he was captain of the reserve in the first field artillery regiment, Prince Regent Luitpold, and holder of war medals.

Riede was the son of the architect Georg Riede and his wife Marie, b. Long. He was married and had three children.
